What is Marketing:
To go in details to know what is marketing? First get small introduction: Marketing is a process in which you promote products, services so that consumer buys your products or services over all other products or services. Marketing is a teaching practice where you teach consumers why they should choose your products. Now days we see a lot of methods in advance marketing are used. While moving on roads, we see signboards, maintained by some companies offering their services to consumers. Similarly on Television we also watch commercials. All those are types of marketing. If you have products, but not going to market it in the Market. Then you will lose your income and your product will be useless. Marketing is the only tool which can help manufacturer to make their services and products available in consumers’ pockets.
Some companies make mistake, they think that marketing is one time process. But the truth is that Marketing is everything. Because, this is the only tool you use to educate consumer that why they have to choose you in first attempt or for repeat business. Many people think that Advertising and marketing is single thing. Why Marketing is Important for Business:
As we know that if our product is popular in consumers, then our business will lead in market. And we as company, or as individual will get profits. To get in market, where already thousands of products are placed for consumers. Many products are being used for long times by consumers. Then think you have your new product and want to sell in market where already many sellers are selling. Then as first step you would like to introduce your product. You will start telling benefits to consumers as, price, quality etc. If you are successful in your first step, and you convince the consumer, then they would like to purchase your product. In this all process, introduction of your product, this is simple and easy example to know the importance of marketing.
Now think at high level, company is making products at large level. So , similarly they would need marketing of large scale.
The purpose of Marketing can be defined in three steps:
- To capture attention of Market.
- To make consumers aware about your product and service.
- Enable Consumer to take decision to buy your product or service.
- Provide Products or services to consumer at low risk, and easy to take actions.
Keeping above mentioned purposes of marketing in mind different methods are used as sales, coupon codes, displaying products, merchandising etc. All these are the parts of marketing process with the objective to sell more services or products. After keeping quick view on this part, we can say that marketing process is backbone of any business.
Common Types of Marketing:
Print Media, Radio, Television are used for marketing as main source. Advertisements are also type of marketing. Some companies maintain their website in such a way to appear on higher rank in Search Engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing to generate more sales. Some use Referral Marketing, where potential users can refer new buyers to their website. Newsletters, emails, Direct Mail are also types of marketing. New days, Social Media is also used for marketing. Sellers upload their products on social media like Facebook, Twitter, with links to their website.
